1. Find some references, observe frame by frame and make a planning.
2. According to the planning, creating my weight shift animation from side to side.
3. Based on the work I completed independently above. The teacher gave me some constructive feedback. The tilt of the character’s body can be increased to make the entire character’s movements more fluid rather than stiff.
Feedback 1
4. After feedback 1, I further enhance the range of motion of the character.
In the initial state, slightly squat the character to make the character relaxed.
Enhance the range of motion of the character, such as squatting, stretching the legs, lifting the legs, and tilting the body left and right, to make the character’s movements more vivid.
Finally, change the characters’ relaxed standing postures to make the animated characters closer to reality.
5. CONCLUSION: In this project, I learned that the charm of animation stems from the mastery and understanding of the movement laws of real creatures in the world. For instance, people do not stand straight and stiff in their daily relaxed life, unless there is a specific background such as standing at attention and so on. And in the animation, a slightly exaggerated range can be used to make the entire movement effect look more vivid and interesting. This is very much worth my careful observation and learning of the behaviors and actions of the people around me in my future life, and applying them to my future works.
